“Double Dragon: Attacking the Enemy” Nintendo Power [July/August 1988]

Even though I never was able to beat this game (the level with the blocks pushing you into spikes — painful), I still manage to have a soft spot in my heart for it. As you can tell in the image, the combat was surprisingly deep and it was the best arcade-style beat ‘em up available on the home console at that time!

Side note: The artwork for this version of Billy Lee was done by Hirohiko Araki, the man most well known for his Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure series.
