THQ Reveals the “Austin 3:16” Collector’s Edition of WWE ‘13

As a fan of wrestling games dating back to the early 90’s, I’m torn with this one. I wasn’t happy with several things in WWE ‘12, and I’m not exactly rushing to put down money to pre-order this upcoming one — but I do love the hype with new games.

WWE ‘13 will not only have all the current WWE Superstars, but it will highlight several stars from the “WWF Attitude Era”, a time where wrestling was at it’s highest peak in popularity during the late 90’s.  Because of that fact, then who else than the legendary “Stone Cold” Steve Austin would you have as the iconic figure on your collector’s edition?  In fact, you get a bunch of Austin stuff according to THQ’s cringe-inducing press release:

• Exclusive foil packaging featuring embossed Stone Cold Steve Austin skull
• Exclusive collectible art card personally autographed by Stone Cold Steve Austin
• Exclusive Stone Cold Steve Austin in-game attire: Red skull t-shirt (circa 2001)

There aren’t any retailers currently listing the price for this collector’s edition, but last year’s “The People’s Edition” with The Rock went for $69.99. Buy if you like, just remember that it’s been close to a full year since WWE ‘12 went live and the servers for that game are STILL fucked.
