CM Punk Cameo in Scribblenauts Unlimited?
It looks like whenever you type up the word “wrestler” in the new Scribblenauts game, you’ll summon a guy that looks kinda like the current WWE Champion CM Punk. In fact, he looks almost exactly how Punk looked at the beginning of 2011 when he became the leader of The Nexus, a stable of dastardly rookies who were fully prepared to take over the WWE!
Paper Mario: Sticker Star Box Art Revealed [Nintendo 3DS]
I bought my Nintendo 3DS specifically due to this game being announced, and I’m surprised to see that it’s already close to the release date of November 11th. I’ve kept myself from reading all the details about it, but I’m glad that Nintendo decided to keep the series alive by giving us a true RPG sequel to the amazing Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
New Nuper Nario Nros. Noo
I’m absolutely amazed at how far Nintendo pushes the coin collecting aspect in New Super Mario Bros. 2 without featuring Wario! That’s the man’s whole schtick when he isn’t forcing you to play frantic minigames!
Box Art For Street Fighter X Tekken [PS Vita - 2012]
Even though fans have to wait until October 23rd for their Street Fighter/Tekken fix on the Vita, they can still appreciate the box art featuring the collection of iconic fighters (and also pick up the game for the console versions for a little over $20).
…
Yup. You Vita guys still have a ways to go before you get your hands on this one!
Gamecube Cameo in Metroid Fusion [Game Boy Advance 2003]
NeoGAF poster Currygan posted this above photo in the close-to-legendary thread “Videogame facts that blow your mind”, (AKA the place where Did You Know Gaming? mines from) and it was the first one in the while that actually…well…blew my mind.
I love neat little cameos like this in games, and I was just surprised that I’ve never even heard of this before. Even some of the crowd over at NeoGAF seemed to impressed, which is kinda rare at this point in that thread’s life.
Fun item.
Advert for Tiger Electronics X-Men: Project X [1993]
God, I used to love these games.
I had a whole collection of Tiger Electronic handhelds (all of them being terrible), but this one was my favorite due to it being the easiest to beat. Shoot Apocalypse with your optic blasts, avoid the potholes by jumping over them, collect energy by jumping into the sun; pretty much all the action you’d find in a Jim Lee X-Men comic condensed into a terrible handheld game.
5/5 Stars.
Also, I love the coloring mistakes on this ad which makes it look like Wolverine wore trunks and thigh high boots as part of his costume. Very sexy.
Surely I’m not the only one who came home early from work today to download Wario Land from the eShop!
Nintendo 3DS Full Game Download Cards Released in Japan
Starting July 28th in Japan, Nintendo will be offering New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Oni Tore/Demon Training as full digital downloads to coincide with their in-store release of the Nintendo 3DS carts. This is a practice that’s new to Nintendo, and they seem to be taking the digital market seriously as they’ve already started to sell these 3DS download cards at retailers already.
Kinda interesting to see — I wonder if there will be something similar in the States whenever New Super Mario Bros. 2 is released on August 19th.

During a Nintendo Direct presentation in late June, Reggie Fil-Aime announced that two Virtual Console games would be released through the 3DS eShop every week throughout July. Classic titles like The Legend of Zelda and Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 were revealed, but then there were some…other games listed that might not be so legendary.

Konami Handhelds Ad - 1989
I never owned one of these things as we were strictly a Tiger Electronics household. These handheld games look so awkward to me.
