Zoom ronnieraccoon: New Nuper Nario Nros. Noo I’m absolutely amazed at how far Nintendo pushes the coin collecting aspect in New Super Mario Bros. 2 without featuring Wario! That’s the man’s whole schtick when he isn’t forcing you to play frantic minigames!

Zoom “Super Mario Bros. 2 Sports Festival” - Nintendo Power #1 [July/August 1988] More off-model art featuring Mario characters, this time showcasing each person’s unique abilities for Super Mario Bros. 2. To be perfectly honest, you didn’t really need to pick anybody but Princess Toadstool to beat the game. Sure, Toad was faster at picking up turnips, but the Princess could float the entire length of a football field! Sidenote: I think Nintendo has really dropped the ball by not returning to the weird world of Sub-Con in any Mario title since. Will Wart ever make his return to challenge Mario, Luigi and rest of the the Mushroom Kingdom gang*!? *spoiler alert: nope.

More off-model art featuring Mario characters, this time showcasing each person’s unique abilities for Super Mario Bros. 2. To be perfectly honest, you didn’t really need to pick anybody but Princess Toadstool to beat the game. Sure, Toad was faster at picking up turnips, but the Princess could float the entire length of a football field!

Zoom New Super Mario Bros. 2 Box Art Revealed While I was a fan of the first one for the Nintendo DS, I honestly cannot recall a single thing about it besides the crazy-fun multiplayer mode that only required one cart to play. I’m just hoping that this sequel has a better version of that (and a fun Mario game too, I guess). New Super Mario Bros. 2 is set to be released on August 19th, 2012.

While I was a fan of the first one for the Nintendo DS, I honestly cannot recall a single thing about it besides the crazy-fun multiplayer mode that only required one cart to play. I’m just hoping that this sequel has a better version of that (and a fun Mario game too, I guess).
